Behrman Capital Announces Leadership Transition Plan

Simon P. Lonergan to lead the firm as sole Managing Partner
NEW YORK, July 1, 2025 – Behrman Capital (“Behrman”), a private equity investment firm based in New York, today announced that Simon P. Lonergan will assume primary responsibility for managing and leading the firm as the sole Managing Partner, effective December 31, 2026. Co-Founder and Managing Partner Grant G. Behrman will be stepping down from his role as Managing Partner and assuming the new title of Senior Partner and Co-Founder.
Mr. Behrman and Mr. Lonergan have worked closely on a leadership transition plan, which was first established in 2023, to ensure that Mr. Lonergan is fully prepared to assume additional responsibilities while maintaining the strong, positive trajectory of the firm. While Mr. Behrman will step back from day-to-day leadership, he will continue to support Mr. Lonergan across all critical areas of the business.

Mr. Lonergan joined Behrman Capital in 2005 as a Partner and was elevated to Managing Partner in 2019. He has served on the boards of 12 Behrman portfolio companies, including existing investments Micross Components, The Thermal Group, Shur-Co, and Waterline Renewal Technologies.

Prior to joining Behrman Capital, Mr. Lonergan was a Partner and Senior Managing Director at The Blackstone Group, where he co-led Blackstone’s pursuit of European private equity transactions. He was a member of Blackstone’s Private Equity Investment Committee and a board member of eight portfolio companies across a range of industries, including media, communications and packaging. Mr. Lonergan started his career in consulting at Bain & Company. He received a B.A. in Mathematics and Economics from Cambridge University and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.
