Master Chief Edward Byers
Master Chief Edward Byers, USN (Ret.) joined Behrman Capital in 2019 as an Operating Executive. Before retiring in 2019, Master Chief Byers served most of his career as a Navy SEAL with the elite Naval Special Warfare Development Group (NSWDG). From 2016-2018, Mr. Byers served as an action officer and lead integrator for the Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff’s, In-Q-Tel’s Interface Center – Department of Defense (QIC-D) maritime unmanned program.
Mr. Byers other duty stations included SEAL Team 4 and 2nd Battalion 2nd Marines Golf Co.
Master Chief Byers is a graduate of Norwich University, Summa Cum Laude, and is currently attending Wharton’s Executive MBA ’21. He holds a Nationally EMT-Paramedic license. He holds many awards including Bronze Star with Valor* (five awards, all with valor), Purple Heart (two awards), Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal with Valor*(two awards, one with Valor), Navy Commendation Medal with Valor* (three awards, one with valor). In 2016, Master Chief Byers was awarded the Medal of Honor, the highest military honor a President can bestow. He is the 1st member from NSWDG and is the 6th Navy SEAL in history to receive this honor.
